HACKED Tianjin - Chinese Gov't (2nd)

This was another attack on a Chinese site. The Tianjin Network of Information of
Science & Technology was hacked by the same people who were behind the 10/26/98
incident and the
message was fairly similar, including a passing reference to the Kevin
Mitnick case.
The main inspiration for this hack was the arrest of Lin Hai
who faces life imprisonment for sending email to an American publication.
In addition, Sun Microsystems is implicated as aiding the Chinese in
censoring the net for its citizens.
The hackers also claim to have
misconfigured Chinese firewalls in such a way as to allow its citizens
free access to the rest of the world. If true, this would certainly be
one of the more dramatic hacking incidents in an international forum.
