The weekend of November 14, 1998, brought a subtle change to the web site
of Time/Warner's Cartoon Network in the United Kingdom.
Instead of the usual cartoonish material, the sobering pictures of
suffering Bulgarian children were displayed, along with a plea to stop
ignoring them.
It's unlikely that the Cartoon Network played much of a role in the plight
of these children but a large number of more fortunate kids no doubt got
a real education on the true state of the world from this modified site.
